I think it's time for another fun thread. For our new members, a fun thread is just that....fun! It gives you a chance to get to know each other better. By no means do you have to do this if it makes you uncomfortable. smilewinkgrin

So, the fun thread question is: Who are you? Meaning, are you a wife, husband, mother, father, brother, sister, etc. how old you are, your hobbies or career, dreams or inspirations. What makes you, YOU?

I will begin, I am 42 years old and have been married for 23 years. I have a 21 year old son and a 17 year old daughter. I am a HUGE animal lover! I have two dogs (8 year old Black Lab and a 9 year old Jack Russell/Beagle mix), two birds (White Eyed Conure - a small parrot, and a Cockatiel), and a Painter turtle. Oh and a few squirrels that I feed out back lol

I used to work as a Payroll Accountant but stopped working due to my health and to raise my children. I'm on the look out for a part time job now so I hope to be working again soon.

In the summer I am hardly home. Me and my husband spend a lot time on the motorcycle ('05 Harley Davidson Electraglide standard), up north on the river on the boat, or 4 wheeling on the quads...or just going out with friends.

I'm an avid reader - I love Sci-Fi, mystery/murder novels. I'm also a computer gamer. My latest kick is the Hidden Object Adventure games but before my hands got bad, I used to play the PS2, specifically the Resident Evil series or Tomb Raider series. However, I do tend to mess a bit with the Wii (love Mario Kart! lol)

23-year-old stay-at-home semi writer with big aspirations of being a publisher - books, can't stand journalism any longer. Unemployment sucks as anyone can guess.

(I LOVE YOU SHERRY. You have a TURTLE! And a Harley. And you love MK. :D) Ahem. No pets, though I loved my dear cat that we lost last year.

As Sherry said, I'm a huge avid reader, too. I read every day. Every present I get is usually books. And I'm quickly running out of space - so I cleared out two drawers for more. I love photography, but don't do enough of it.
I constantly yell at the tv if I'm watching a movie based on a book. And I usually ***** at the tv too, if the movie isn't good enough, or the girl ran up the stairs instead out the door or window.
I help my mom who is disabled. I'm a rock for my friends. I'm a chronic over-thinker. I'm planning of running again. Maybe start up hiking.
And I'm currently a wanderer, not sure where I should be yet.


Now it's another one's turn to spill their guts out.

I'm a 35 year old french canadian woman. Though I look much younger my husband, who is 32, is still ask for id sometimes.

I've always been the artsy type: drawing, printing, sewing, knitting and self thought about anything. I'm very hard headed like my irish dad and if I decided to sew a top at midnight to have it to wear the next day I would do it (gave my mum heart attacks)

I'm a self thought fashion merchandiser and now I am an avid charity shop buyer (vintage, designer) and I resell on ebay. I know my stuff and want to practice to be eventually a fashion buyer.

I'm a mean cook and I come from Montreal where food is just diverse and great. My husband is 100% british so you can only imagine the clash. But I made him taste things he never thought hed like. He hates nuts but my big secret is I hide nuts everywhere when I cook and he never notice! My dream is to open my own cafe with everything made from scratch and half of it would be wheat or gluten free. But really nice so the clients who can tolerate wheat or gluten still chooses the ones without.

I'm passionate about photography and used to do film and prints in black and white labs. Old school!

My last main interest (am an expert at it) is cheesy, kitsch, retro music. Anything from the 50's to the 80's. In any language. Nothing excites me more than a bad costume, a bad costume, a (good) bad voice and no complex! I don't laugh at cheesy music I actually quite enjoy it.

I'm a 27 year old woman. I worked for the tabloids for over five years. Chasing celebrities and doing red carpet interviews. Very exciting lifestyle! I currently am looking to be a lifestyle reporter and move away from the Los Angeles lifestyle. I love cooking, reading, writing, crafting and being surrounded by good fun hearted people. I can be a cranky pants at times and having colitis hasn't helped! I'm a new Auntie and love spoiling my niece! Can't wait for on of my own. :)

Hi I am a mum (from Australia) of two beautiful girls aged 6 and 16, both conceived via IVF.
I am married and have been for just over 19 years. Work full time, clerical (accounts payable).
We have a cat which was kindly donated to us over 8 years ago.....we did not like cats at this stage. Definitely dog lovers, but we love our cat now :)
I love to read, always borrow books from the library but never find the time to read them. Does anybody relate to this lack of time (hehehe) ?
The beach is a family favourite and we look forward to this each summer. PS I am not really allowed in the sun because of Imuran, but I try to be careful. The beach has such a relaxing feel. I would love to be able to live there is money was not an issue. PS We are going to the beach tomorrow for a stroll and what else but fish and chips...hold the chips for me and the fish will be grilled...yummy.

I just turned 40 and have been married for 21 years. I have 3 children. The oldest son will be 20 next month, my younger son is 17 and my daughter turns 5 on Halloween. I used to work as a Manager at a Boarding Kennel which I loved except for the fact that my former Boss is just a horrible person to work for. I haven't worked in over a year and frankly don't really have time to with all the running around I do taking kids here and there. I guess you could say my current job is Taxi Driver. ;P

I love animals and currently have a dog named Sally who is 11, a cat named Cassie who is 15, another cat named Penny who is 10 and we just aquired a boy kitten named Salem who is around 9 weeks. The girl kitties hate the kitten and there is much growling and hissing at all times. LOL

I love to bake and cannot wait to start on Christmas cookies! I also read whenever I get the chance and have tons of books on my Kindle.

Jovana, you can still enjoy the sun while on Imuran. Slather 30+ sunscreen on a half hour before and your good to go :) I'm on 6mp and I'm in the sun all the time.

sierra, who have you gotten to take pictures of? that sounds like a crazy life!

sherbear, how was working at a kennel? my stepdad's family owns a kennel and their house is just covered in dog hair. they breed bernese mountain dogs and keep 11 of them in the house.

here's my story:

i'm joanna and i'll be 23 tomorrow-sept 23!! woot woot. wishing for a perfect day!! that means i don't have to do anything and i can watch crime tv all day long. and luckily, sunday is always roast chicken day and that's my favorite dinner. works out just as i planned muwahahaha

i have a sister who is 21 and i live with my mom and stepdad. we have a shiba inu named Emi and a cat named Buttercup. i like the cat way better and will always be a cat person.

i am such a homebody (mainly because i'm flaring) and love doing word searches, reading books/magazines, working out, and sunbathing. when i'm able to go out and have fun, i love running, seeing movies, and going places with my huge stuffed animal dog. his name is Lands End Dog, Landsy for short, and he's been to every place imaginable- parks, banks, country clubs, grocery stores, game preserves. he loves doing anything i love to do and is also a crossdresser. he likes wearing pirate's wench outfits and bikinis that fit oddly, but who am i to judge?

I am 23 years old and my honey is 29. We have been together almost 9 years and have a 4 year old daughter together. My honey and I were both diagnosed with our "conditions" in sept 2005. His UC and mine Epilepsy, yes, what a year it was! We live in USA with our daughter, dog (bella boo), cat (booga booga), and 2 birds (olivia and rico). My honey works fast food and I am an umemployed dental assistant ( cant find work! eekkk). We love to watch movies at home thanks to the trusty redbox! We like to go to theme parks. We love holidays, decorating the house and treats and buying gifts is sooo fun. We like to go out on weekends anywhere, even of its just to be lookie loo's. We plan to get hitched next year (finally) and expand the family by one more! yay I love my family!!!

I'm Heather, 33 year old mama to 2 boys ages almost 7 and 4 plus a baby on the way. Don't know the gender of this next one and won't find out until the big day. I'm planning on my 2nd home birth. I didn't know it before I had them, but being a mom is my favorite job and I really feel like I'm living my dream... staying home with them, homeschooling and cooking healthy foods from scratch. We live in Hawaii, so beach days are a part of our curriculum! :)

Prior to kids I enjoyed having stress free jobs and spending time doing anything with DH. We've been married for 16 years and we enjoy simple life.

We play a few co-op games together on the Xbox and just got borderlands 2, so we're going to bed too late!

I love reading and am a convert to the kindle for novels, but still want any reference books or cook books in real paper.

I'm a La Leche League leader and really enjoy supporting moms in all stages of their breastfeeding journey.

I'm a self taught seamstress and I tend to make practical stuff that we'll use around the house... diapers, diaper covers, bags for Legos, pencil rolls and even cloth menstrual pads. Have even sold some of the pads and diaper covers (to pay for more fabric, of course!). I made a hiking pack for DH that turned out awesome as well as a baby carrier called a mei tai.

Joanna-the kennel I managed did obedience and gun dog training and the also bred labs along with boarding dogs. I've taken care of alot of puppies over the years. Even whelped 3 litters at my house. That was the most fun of the job. Fur lots of it all the time. Doesn't bother me but wow 11 burmese mountain dogs? THAT would be a ton of fur. I always feel that if you don't like dogs or cats or fur don't come to my house. They bring me way more joy then most people do. ;)

sherbear, is gun dog training for hunting? i've never heard of it before but that sounds really neat. my mom would love to be at your house!! she is a puppy maniac- always watching videos on youtube. same with my stepdad. he has this shirt that says "i'm not a people person. i'm a dog person." he wears it at all the family parties haha

but yeah, my stepdad's sister owns the kennel and she doesn't have kids so her whole house is like a dog house. cages in the bedrooms where beds would usually be. they all listen really well. she shows dogs, too, but only the perfect ones.

I am a wife, married 13years I think? We are both the the worst at things like that, we both forget our own and each others birthdays. Don,t forget my kids b days though. Two girls ages 12 and 8. I am a teacher's aide in high school right now, but have been everything under the sun. Timeline goes like this; Campground/ grounds maintainence summers, BA English ( just a bad typist), machine operator, forklift operator in a few factories, cosmetology school hairdstylist, school bus driver, and finally teacher's aide. You can weave waitressing ans cashier in there too. I have started painting again this summer which has been awesome. I love sci-fi too. Has anyone read "Shades of Gray" by Jasper Fforde"? I recommend it. I have a dog and cat and just lost our guinea pig, " Minnie" . She was 7 years! I have also gotten addicted to going on the real estate site, Trulia. Love this forum, thanks for all the advice guys.

Joanna-gun dog training can be for hunting or gun dog competitions which is basically retrieving shot birds in a variety of outdoor settings. I was never a part of that or ever even seen a competion when they went on the road. I was always at the kennel holding down the fort. I miss doing all that stuff but don't miss my former boss who caused me sooooo much undue stress. I need that same shirt your stepdad has. My lab that I still have has had I think 3 litters. I whelped the last two. Sooo much fun. I had a golden retriever buts its been almost 2 years since I had to put him down. Just about killed me. He was my velcro dog. I think my next dog will be a rescue of some kind. I'm getting a little old to deal with a puppy. LOL

Fun!

I'm a 35 stay at home mom to a 1st grader. I've been married for 11 years to the love of my life :)

We have two dogs. One yorkie and one very naughty westie puppy. They keep me entertained.

We love to go to football games and the beach. I love working out and I just really got into yoga.

I have a great group of girlfriends and get to see them lots. My parents live about an hour away so we spend lots of time with them as well. I also enjoy volunteering at my son's school. Though he has declared me "embarrassing." Lol.

I'm chuck. 32. Male. Tattoo artist & artist. I went from having a nice loft in oakland, california 5 years ago, to living with my mom in sacramento, california. I have a beautiful bossy 5yrold daughter. Her mother & I called it quits back in feb this year. I've let uc ruin my life and depress me for so long but I'm learning to accept it & whatever happens with it in the future.

Tattooing & art are pretty much all I do. I travel to the la area to tattoo a lot, when not flaring. I drive a cadillac & smoke marijuana in it while on my way to the nearest cannabis club. I rarely drink & never touch any drugs that aren't prescribed to me. I believe in god but need to go to church way more.

I love the railroad, freight trains, etc. I love watching trains pass and I even go to train yards and walk around taking pictures and writing on the trains. Feels like another world in there lol, most wouldn't understand. I have 1 dog, he's a morkie. I plan on moving to los angeles next year, depending how my health is i guess. The next woman I find & fall in love with will be treated like a queen & stupid UC will not ruin the relationship!

I'm a mom of 2, my youngest daughter has indeterminate colitis, just diagnosed this month. Would so love to just decide if its crohn's or UC, but all we know now is its severe whatever it is.

I work at a nonprofit company in Canada, transplanted here from USA when I married a Canuck.(thanks to the health care system real glad I'm here now too!) Love taking my girls everywhere to explore. Love to read & play with all things tech :-) I think my calling was supposed to be Steve Jobs right hand woman but I was too young....

I'm a long-time member but don't post so much these days. I'm 66 years young (in my mind and heart I'm 30) and my husband and I have been married 44 years. We retired to the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee four years ago, and are loving it. I finally decided this was always what I wanted to be when I grew up!

In my former life I was a registered nurse, working with children and new families. I loved my career but am very happily retired.

After almost two dogless years, we're finally complete again with the addition of two Cavalier King Charles spaniel puppies. With a three month-old and a five month-old in the house, we have a lot of fun. I volunteer one day a week at our county animal shelter. We also enjoy working out at our wellness center and seeing the beautiful country around us.

I still read this forum regularly and enjoy hearing everyone's stories.

Hi everyone!
I'm a 57 year old female. I'm a Massage Therapist, living in central Florida. Originally from Long Island New York. Married for 29 years to the same man. No kids, have 2 dogs and 2 elderley cats whom I love very much. Lots of health problems with 3 of them . Takes up a lot of my time going to the vet. Part of my anxiety problem.
Try to stay active. Used to play water volley ball. Broke my pinky last year at this time. Three operations later and out of work for 8 months. . Swimming and dragon boat racing are some of the sports I've been tring to participate in.
I work in a wellness center and get free access to the gym.
Also I live in the largest golf cart community in the US. It's like Disney World for adults. The Villages , FL. Fun place to live!

Isn't it interesting that most replies are from females?

I am a 70-year-old (this month) woman living in Massachusetts. Earned a degree in mathematics and studied computer science. Worked as a high school math teacher and as a programmer and financial analyst at a large insurance company from which I retired in 1999.

I'm an avid reader, love to travel and have visited many countries including China. Favorite mode: cruising

I was diagnosed with UC at age 60 so I did not have to deal with the symptoms while working (for which I am extremely grateful). I feel very badly for those of you who are suffering with UC while going to school and having babies.
I try to learn something new from this Forum every time I log on and appreciate the willingness to share information.

Most of the oldies on the forum know me but I haven't been on in so long--too busy and in remission!

I'm Sam and I'm almost 24. I live at home with my mom (my dad passed away about a year ago) and our two shelties Jackson and Priscilla. I've been with my boyfriend almost 7 years and I'm hoping that someday soon he'll get the hint! I'm a medical laboratory science student and I'm in my last year of school--graudating in May. Tomorrow I start my clinical rotations so I'm focused on doing well and ignoring the IBS rumble in my tummy!
