Hi again I have been following the posts on the other thread with interest
I just thought I'd start a new thread to ask you a few more questions if you d'ont mind,
I had been on azathioprine for about
5 years, and I decided to come off it against the advice of my GI I have'nt been taking any meds for about
6 months and have been fairly OK no real issues, the only problem I has tiredness, fatigue,my last scope was good clear aside pseudopolyps, and evidence of previous inflamation, when you had your scope could you still see evidence of previous inflamation?
Do you think it would be a good time to try a colon cleanse as I have no symptoms at the momment and I already eat quite healthly and I don't really have a lot of issues with foods at least nothing I could identify as making my UC worse ( apart from I do tend to aviod cabbage brussel sprout beacause of the sulphurous gas)
Did the natruapath you saw do a stool test and identify the parasites in your system or just treat for different possibilities, and how long did the bad die off period last?what were the symptoms of die did you see blood and mucus again.
Do you still have to do regular cleanses to stay free of parasites?

Omg. AnnaG. In my humble opinion don't fix what isn't broken. Getting off the azo is a huge step. To remain clear of symptoms is to be congratulated. I would just tread carefully, be grateful and try not to stir the pot.

I agree. Don't try to fix something that isn't broken.

Agree with the above posters. Stay the course that you are on and listen to your doctor.

Hi AnnaG
I agree with the other posters.
I would be afraid that a colon cleanse might cause irritation and/or inflammation. Don't rock the boat!
Could the source of your fatigue be low iron?
You do not say if you are taking vitamins/supplements.
I take a multivitamin with iron every couple of days.
If I experience bleeding from hemmies, I take slow-acting iron tabs. Makes a big difference in my energy level.
I also try to exercise regularly. Did Tai Chi in the am yesterday and energy went up in spite of skipping morning coffee.
Be well!
