Mystery medicine?

I was on the phone to my doctor, and they aren't sure if my Ulcerative colitis has spread from distal to further through the bowel. I am not ready to have another colonoscopy so they will try me on another treatment.
The doctor said she will put me on 8 steroid tablets daily (40mg if I am not mistaken) prednisolone. And another mystery liquid medicine that she described as something which will "keep me well after the steroids get my condition under control"
Can anyone shed some light on what this mystery medicine could be?

I have distal Ulcerative Colitis, they suspect it has spread. It is mild/ moderate. A normal steroid taper without anything else except my Balsalazide tablets did not work, so what could this other mystery medicine be?
I can't remember what she called it, but the name of the medicine began with a P

My guess is mesalamine enemas.

I should have explained what treatments haven't worked. Colifoam didn't work (I was not very good at using it) and Mesalazine enemas didn't work as well although they helped a little

I am still using the enemas, the steroids are to begin on Monday

Are you drinking the liquid or inserting the liquid? Would you be on it for quite awhile? Could it be steroid enemas?

Which country are you in? Some countries have different meds.

Sorry for the late response, the medicine is a drink. It's not an enema, I have tried those stuff with inconsistent responses. I think, but not sure, that I will be on this longer term

Why in the world wouldn't you ask what it is before taking it? Just doesn't make sense to me.... if it's something you get at a pharmacy, it will come with the drug fact sheet. And pharmacists themselves are very helpful. Hey, I bet it's "placebo"... haha!!! (I just noticed that it begins with a P)

Sorry, I was out at the time, (studying for my A-Levels) and someone else had to take the call for me and that's the only information I had gotten

I will let you guys know what it is when I receive the medication, as I have a hospital appointment on Monday, where they will talk me through it and give me the prescription (I'm in the UK, and my local hospital is very vague and disorganised)
I know I said I was on the phone, it was a mistake I meant to say someone else took the call for me. Bit stressed right now with all the work I have to do :/

Well, I can explain my errors, usually my doctors use term "medicine" as for a liquid drug, so when they phones and said medicine and I was told it was a medicine I assumed it was a drink because my family call drugs you drink "medicine" it's just slang terms for my area and what they call different things, basically this was a huge mix up. I was told it was a medicine so I thought it was a drink, but really it was tablets. Silly me hahaha tongue

Medicine is slang for drink? That is interesting lol. I consider a medicine any kind of drug used to treat an illness. I'm sure way back in the old days it was more often in liquid form.

Yeah that's kinda what I mean, I live in Newcastle, just below the border of Scotland and the accent here is just completely messed up hahaha sometimes I don't even know what I am saying. I probably think that because medicine is a drink because I live with old people
