6mp cause of open sores?

Hi!

A few weeks ago I got a sore on the outside corner of my mouth that won't go away. Had one on my tongue, but only for a few days. Have a very large one below my hip ... it has a lump underneath it and it's open and oozing today (lovely, no?) and another on my leg (not open at the moment).

Called the dermatologist and they couldn't get me in until November. Called my primary care physician and I have an appointment tomorrow. But now I'm wondering if these sores could be associated w/ the 6mp? Has anyone else had this happen to them while on 6mp?

I'm also super tired ...

My sig is wrong, will update in a sec but currently taking one vancomycin and I'm off the prednisone.

I've been on Imuran for 2 years now without any side effects. I have never heard of this being a side effect. Are you on the vancomycin for C-diff? The sores you describe could be a staph infection so I am glad you are going to see your doctor.

Last time I was on Imuran, years back, I got cysts on my back and butt a couple times a year that sometimes had to be excised; also got some warts popping up; and last but worst of all, got severe bursitisof the elbow a couple times- wonderful stuff that makes one wonder what else itis doing to the body.

Interesting, thanks. And yes, the vancomycin is for the c-diff. I'm on a 34-week taper w/ testing throughout.

6-mp is an immunosuppressant-the one on the outside of your mouth sounds like you might be having a herpes simplex I flare. Canker sores inside the mouth are also very common in UC patients and might have nothing to do with the meds.

As for the ones on your legs-have you injured yourself recently? Scratched it? Could it be an ingrown hair or an inflamed follicle? It's hard to tell without pictures.
