Is C-Diff always antibiotic related?

I have the worst diareeah now since being of my 5-asa and only on Imuran which has only been 7 days. It has the worst smell and I go at 8pm then usually from 2 am to 5 am off and on. Does this just sound like UC? It's been so long since I've had it this bad!

I had fissure surgery four weeks ago, no antibiotics, but it just seems to have been worst from then.

I would be tested.

It's not always antibiotic related...one can also pick it up from wherever (spread hand to mouth). That's why it's rampant in hospitals.

We all have c.diff in our guts, but kept in check by other gut bacteria... it can take over if our immune systems are compromised as well...

Ask your doctor for you to pick up a stool sample test kit.
