Has anyone had a pillcam? Any risks?

I want to get a pillcam shortly to verify no crohn's as Surgery seems in my near future. Anyone here have one and have any issues? My recent colonoscopy- indeed all colonoscopies over the years, have shown no strictures or anything like that and I am assuming therefore it should "sail" through safely- still, was wondering if passing the pillcam can cause any worsening of UC or IBS symptoms.

There is a patency pill that is the same size as the camera, but will dissolve if it gets stuck. You can swallow that one first, make sure there are no strictures higher up in the bowel, and then proceed with the pillcam with some confidence that you won't end up with emergency surgery.

Thanks, all. I have no blockages or strictures, I am very sure, so it sounds like it should be a non-event for me, but Thanks for the feedback- now will schedule it. You have tonwear some goofy belt thing for 24 hours or whatever time it takes to pass, right?
