My daughter goes for her 2nd loading dosage today of Remicade. The last few days have been the best she has had in 8 months. No bleeding, less than 10 bathroom trips a day, and sometimes she doesn't even go poo when she has to use the bathroom! Woo Hoo!

Really hoping next dosage today continues the path to getting the IBD under control.

Question: when can we consider reducing the prednisone? What has been people's past history coming off it? (At what point did you stop, what was your reaction) She has been on it for a month now, (IV 2 weeks, now pills) and I know the shorter the time she is on it the better. Both of us would REALLY love to stop the enemas soon...

I was off prednisone right after starting the Remicade, but Remicade also gave me quick results -- overnight. So happy to hear your daughter is having good results with the Remi. Remember when she starts to wean off the pred to do it slowly. Of course, work with her doctor when you start the process for her best care.

Wow glad to hear the Remicade gave you quick results. Just has 2nd treatment yesterday & my daughter has already increased her bathroom trips. Thinking it is just the cheese she found out now has an issue for her. Would love to consider prednisone reduction. Doctor's appointment next week so I am crossing my fingers!
