Humira injection

Gave myself my injection as usual. This time I felt virtually nothing. I usually feel a little sting for about 10 sec. After the injection there is a little blood ,just a drop. Nothing this time. When pressing the pen against the skin it leaves a mark. I had that. Couldn't see where the injection went In. There was moisture where the impression of the pen left a mark. Not much. The meds were out of the pen. I checked that,it turns yellow when injected. I'm not looking for pain. Just hope it was injected properly . Took a flashlight searching for injection site. Couldn't really tell. Making myself crazy!
Anyone had anything like this using a Humira pen?

I too had left sided UC with 35 cm involved . Had a hard time getting trying to get mine under control. Refused to take pred. Not too many choices left. Made peace with the idea of taking a biologic. Glad I did. Not 100% but getting close. I sometimes get a headache ,sore throat that goes away in a day. Not too much more with the side effects. Glad I took the plunge !
The shots do not hurt!! That was my fear. Hope you find something that makes you feel better

Balenogt91 - everything looked fine. Did a search on this site seems someone else had something similar a couple years ago. Maybe its just fine. Maybe the area I injected into has less feeling. I know how to make myself crazy!

Lemonhead, I just tried once again to research this, as it has been difficult to pin down. The reports seem to indicate that a specific type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Hepatosplenic T-Cell Lymphoma, is occasionally seen in patients on Remicade or Humira in conjunction with Azathioprine or 6-MP. The reports also say because HSTL is so extremely rare in general and in treated people, there aren't enough statistics to determine what the risk actually is.

I know that studies are continuing, but with an extremely rare form of cancer it could be years or even decades before there is enough data to give firm risk figures. Frustrating but true.

I stopped worrying about all of this. Couldn't live with it before I went on Humira. Quality of life sucked! I have OCD, couldn't stop thinking of all that could go wrong. The big C runs in my family. Hopefully nothing will go wrong. Still in the back of my mind.
Not having the DZ under control is not a good thing. Like colon cancer. That runs in my family too.
If this stops working I'll try remicade . I'm 57 now, want to feel the best I can. Too much time feeling like crap. Try not to dwell Lemonhead!!!!! Enjoy today who know what's in the future:)

Lemonhead, Gi said I can reduce or stop taking Balsalazide. Enema's I've been switching off with Canasa supp. Been afraid to upset the apple cart here. Still have a little urgency here. No more blood! I'm not in complete remission. Feeling a whole lot better. about 75% better. When I get a little better I will start to reduce meds some more.
Do you think you might start Humira?

I know what your saying. I refused pred,so not too many other choices. He said Imuran would take longer to work. I asked about remicade . He said he wanted me to try Humira first. I knew I had to do something. UC was running my life. Was having trouble leaving the house in the morning. Had to change my hours at work.
Hope you find something that makes you feel better ,I know it's a hard decision!
