Can anyone tell me how clear your BM has to be for a colonoscopy? I have my scope at 2 pm today and my BM's are no clear at all. Very thin and all liquid but not clear. Have not eaten or drank anything for three days.

You haven't had anything to drink in three days??!! Eeep! You must be incredibly dehydrated!

Were you not given a prep kit by your GI?

I meant that I have not drank anything with colour only a clear liquid diet for 3 days. I had to drink 2 citromag bottles. One on Wednesday and one this morning.

Ok, that's much better!

I was told that if you can see the bottom of the toilet after having a BM, you should be good to go. Since your scope isn't until 2, I'd call your GI's office and tell them what you're seeing, and ask if there's anything else you should do.

I read that if you're pooing transparent yellow liquid then you're clear enough. I prepared my bowels based on this (only had to drink half the bowel prep) and my colonoscopy was crystal clear.

Sounds like a strange way to prep...I've always drank all my prep the day before and as instructed, taken 4 dulcolax tabs hours after I was done drinking prep and I've always been clear after prepping that way....sometimes I would just get some clear mucous and lots of butt-heaves.

I had one GI that wanted some stool left in so I was instruced to drink much less prep...that was my worst experiance since for me it was quite uncomfortable.
