New Being up crap creek with out a paddle

Just been diagnosed with 20cms of Moderate Inflammation in the distal colon consistent with localised colitis. Not too bad

This site is great to find out info and help the battle.

 I have been quite sick leading up to this 1st flare up.  2010-2012  Nipple abscess that blew up like a A cup tit, Hospitalised to remove infection. Scrotum infection could not walk. Hospitalised given Anti biotics .

Food poisoning 4 x in the last 2 years. Maybe the Food poisoning bouts brought it on .

2009. went to health resort and under went a Colonic hydro therapy and 10 day detox program . To control my addictions. Which i thought would have done my colon good ?

Who know's why we get this Disease maybe my bodys paying me back for years of abuse . They say genetics, environment . A friend sells conspiracy dvds at a market and reckons the Chemicals in tap water kills the good bacteria in the bowel. He watched it on a dvd he sells. I am still yet to watch it.

At least i am a plumber and work around toilets all day. Handy when you are flaring up. going 5-10 x a day

It is abit overwhelming,  but at least you can put it in remission with the right help and diet

I am lucky i have a Wife, two Kids and a Dog.

Hey and welcome! I Love your attitude, I guess you're right about working near a toilet when you have this illness. You best hope it's not a broken toilet although I bet you would probably be able to get it to work. For me, a broken toilet is one of my worst nightmares :)

What are you taking for your UC? Were you diagnosed with biopsies? It seems like a lot of us have these types of episodes in our past, I was on antibiotics for surgery, got hives and I dealt with bacterial infections before developing UC. I always wonder if maybe the meds I took to treat these things were part of the UC progressing or if perhaps the events were a precursor. Whatever the case, I am stuck with this awful UC.

first thing is to stop blaming yourself or thinking you did something to bring on UC. Lots of blameless children get it. Many people here have many theories, you can read past posts for months if not years about them. I've given up the "how" and "why" and concentrated on getting into remission which I finally did after 10 years of no remission and very bad symptoms.
