Hey there friends :)
Just a question re Psyllium seed powder:
I bought psyllium seed 'powder' which i recieved a couple of days ago...problem is: It seems to have some seed shells in it...like tiny brown oblong shaped seed shells. I tried to grind it using a seed grinder that i have but it didn't break those tiny tiny shells (they are like 3 mm long). I thought what the heck i'll mix it up and drink it. Well i did, except the tiny 'shells' sat at the bottom of the glass and i had to eat them using a spoon. I drank lots of water after it coz im not sure if i was supposed to 'eat' those shells.
Is this normal descript
ion of psyllium 'seed' powder? or have they not ground it properly?

I use store bought capsules and I buy in bulk and fill my own capsules and it is always finely ground.
No blood and they float - that tells me its working and its the right stuff.

I buy starwest and it is ground up pretty fine like powder. I tried Frontier brand and found it clumped up and wouldn't mix well. I mix the psyllium seed 2:1 with Metamucil so that it dosen't taste so much like dirt

Question: Do you use Psyllium seed powder just to bulk up stools due to diarrhea or a different reason?

Thank you everyone for the replies...It was really important for me to know what the powder looks like so i don't end up eating those shells which may then scratch my intestines!!!! Yikes!!
i have contacted the sender and they said that " it's a difficult product to grind and that's the best our machines can do"...WTH?!!
On a good note they agreed to refund me the cost, well they better do coz i payed alot for it as they had a minimum of $50 order. Stupid company. Problem is it's the only one in Australia selling psyllium powder.
Anyway,I would have ordered the startwest botanicals or the frontier product but they do not ship to Australia.
i found only one website in the US which agreed to ship to me: The Bulk Herb Store...Anyone heard of it?
@Garylouisville: i want to take it to help provide a barrier and moisture and prevent irritation. Right now my only remaining symptom is small amounts of mucous so I would ideally like to have that gone as well.
