Well I thought the tea thing was working. I guess not. Was feeling pretty good. Had formed stools and only went 2 times. Had the tea this morning ,had some cramps an a little bit of blood. For the last two nights I've used canasa instead of the mesalamine enema. Everytime I try to stop the mesalamine enema for more then one day, that's when the trouble begins. Oh well ,I guess it's back to the enemas :(

I wonder if I need to use the Humira weekly instead of every 2 weeks. I'm at the 9th day. Now looking back I seem to have trouble about this time last month. You would think all the meds would help hold the symptoms from coming back.

Yeah, your immune system sees something in the colon and it desperately trying to remove and you are desperately trying to stop your immune system from doing that.

An eternal struggle. Proves to you that your immune system is strong sob.

What kind of tea were you trying?

I'd say stick with the enemas. It's not worth the trouble.

about the Humria I'd talk to the GI. Also need to talk to insurance so they cover it since you need to refill earlier.

I hope you get better.

Somedude I think your right. Hate to have to have to take Humira more then every two. BOO HOO!!!!!

Andrina, reg tea,thought it would be less irritating then coffee. Need that Caffine in the AM. I'll stick with the enemas. Calling GI this morning. Thanks hope you feel better too!

Hi Have you ever tried eboost? it has green tea and vitamins in it. maybe a little something different for your morning wake up. sorry im typing bad got a bad middle finger, cant use it

Coffee or teas? Still not sure if it makes a difference with my UC!I will look into eboost.

Hi...I don't know anything about the Humira, I've heard others do take it weekly.

Is it usual to maybe add another med such as methotrexate to the mix? maybe you won't need to do the Humira weekly then.

Regarding the enemas vs Canasa...if you do decrease to them, maybe use them twice a day.

The other option is to see if the doc will also prescribe you the 2g dosage of the mesalamine enemas and see if you're OK on them.

When was the last time the doc took a look to see the state of the inflammation and where it's limited ?

Hi quincy! Just made an appt with GI for next Thursday. Humiria is working, not for the entire 2 weeks. Going to use the reg dose enemas. We don't have 2g dose here in US. They told me to use half. That's not 2 g. I will see what he wants to do. Better to see him in person. I was doing so good for a while there.
I will get this under control!!!!!!!

I'm curious if you've tried fibre supplements as well?

Which RLUF probiotic you're using...the 50 or 80 billion?

Were you always on the Balsalazide? if not, what else before that?

Taking the 80 billion now. While I was feeling pretty good went down to the 50 billion. Last week went back to 80. Taking fiber supplements too. No loose stools.
Tried at one time Asacol, didn't work as good as Balsalazide. Been taking it for about 7 years.

Good you don't have loose stools.

When are you taking the probiotic?

Are you splitting the vitamin D?

Tell me again when you started the enemas/canasa?
I don't remember that stuff...should start writing it down maybe? lol.

Take the probitic in the AM
I do not split the vit D
Been doing the enemas every night for about 6 months. Once in a while using canasa. Before the 6 month was switching between Mesalmine and steroid enemas. Seems like forever! June started Humira calmed things down a lot. That's where I am now.

Hi...thank you...if I have anything to offer I will. Of course, I have the motivation to do so regarding rectal meds for some reason..lol. It would be so nice if they worked for everyone.

maybe try the probiotic at bedtime a half hour or more after your meds.

Split the vitamin D to twice daily if you can.

Take the fibre with meals.

Right, I remember the steroid/mesalamine alternating. Maybe ask the doc for steroid supps?

I have steroid supps! in fact used them today,,
If you rem I have the "arsenal" of rectals. When you write in your book I'm that person LOL

I think they all have helped including Humira. It's my overpowering immune system fighting. It does'nt like all this good stuff I keep putting in :) I keep on trying!!!!
