My bloodwork back after first few weeks on Imuran. Thoughts?

I am taking 50 mg imuran along with my Asacol and I'm on Prednisone at 20 mg tapering down at the moment. Anything you see to be alarmed about ?

I really don't know but how do you feel? Do you feel any pain in your stomach area at all?

Actually I am as good as I have been in a long while. No pain just a little gas. Having only 2 or 3 bms a day and they are regular with no blood at all. Even the urgency has died down. My general health is good at the moment as well. My only worry is that my GI did not order any Liver test this time and I am concerned with that and the Imuran. I am not sure if the Imuran is making me better yet or is it the second round of Pred I am on. I was trying to taper of Pred a few weeks ago before I got on the Imuran and it did not work as I started Flaring at 10 mgs of Pred. Went back up to 30 on the Pred and started the imuran. Since then I am much better. Still a couple of weeks from getting back down to 10 mg on the pred though.

yeah that's weird not doing the lipase blood work. I'm suppose to start Humira but I'm dragging my feet, don't want to. I was on imuran for 15 days and got pancreatitis. OUCH I was in a whole heck a lot of pain in my stomach area!

I wonder what your results were like before IMuran? Did you have a high WBC? Mine went way down when I started 6mp. Your numbers don't look too outside the normal range which is good but they aren't normal so I am sure your GI will want to discuss.

Did you get the results free? In Canada you have to pay to get them I wish I could check my bloodwork too.

Also you wont see much from Imuran in first few weeks anywho. If it was causing bad side effects you would gave felt it.

A month ago my WBC was 6.1 so mine has went up not down.

Yes mine were free. Quest Diagnostics who does the blood work actually has an android app so my results get sent to my cell phone. I can even chart them and compare my blood test over time which is kind of neat.

     Blood work doesn't look bad but that is only a CBC.  I would be concerned about bilirubin...mine was always twice the norm while on 6MP and pancreatic enzyme levels.

Increase in WBC usually indicates inflammation but, since your feeling well, I think you will just have to return for a retest in a few weeks.

No panic values there. But I agree that liver and pancreas are not covered by a CBC. WBC can go up and down quickly for a lot of reasons, not necessarily UC.

But what did your hemoglobin used to be? If you are a female it's low but might be normal for you. If you are a dude it's quite low and could be so from bleeding in the past.
