In order to start Humira I have to have a TB test

Who here has had a TB test? Was it neg or positive? I'm worried I don't want stuff (TB) injected under my skin, doesn't sound healthy.

I have to get one annually, as does everyone who works in a health care setting, at least in NY. It's harmless. The test is referred to as a PPD test because it uses a purified protein derivative from the bacteria, not the bacteria itself. Fear not, millions of the tests are given every year just in the US and I've never heard of anyone getting TB that way.

Had one before starting humira. No big deal. Didn't even know they did it. I said that was it?????? They said yup. I was more frightened for the the loading dose of the Humira. That was no big deal too. We can make ourselves crazy over nothing!

I had it when I was considering Remicade. I don't like getting shots but it wasn't painful. My arm bruised up, the nurse was surprised how much bruising I had but at least it wasn't TB.
