I started at 40 mg of prednisone a couple of weeks ago and I'm tapering now. Two evenings ago I got a pretty bad pain in one hip only. I thought I had sat funny and it sort of went out of place, that kind of pain. Went to bed and the next morning had difficulty weight bearing on that hip. It's improving but I'm still sore and limping.
By the way, I have had sciatic problems with this hip so I imagine it's vulnerable to problems, but I'm not that active right now and the thing that changed was that I went on prednisone. Is there a way to know if it's a side effect?

Yep it probably is. Prednisone is famous for making joints hurt.

I had no back issues while on pred. That was the only thing that felt good! While tapering all my Back problems returned.

I had a little when I was on it before but none now. Im still young :). I did have a weird pain in my leg before but I am unsure if it was joint pain or not but it did happen during a taper.

the first time on pred, my body felt great - no aches, no pains (unfortunately, my moods were....well , you know)
the 2nd time, my body was a mess - everything hurt -
