This is NOT mandatory, but it can be very helpful: Please create a signature for yourself. In the signature you can include, the extent of your Uc, what meds you are on and/or have tried including supplements. But please, no personal information - first names and ages are okay, just no last names or email addys. Signatures can help others know what you are on or have tried so we are not constantly asking and you will get answers more quickly.

To create a signature, go to the upper blue bar where it says My Profile, go to edit profile, scroll down to Signature.

If you use the quick reply box, which I nearly always use, it shows up automatically. If you click the "post reply" button, you have to select "include signature" box down at the bottom of the page in order for it to show up.

And if you go back to edit a post (which I do if I see a typo in one of my posts), you have to click the box as well. And yes, I realize I'm anal. ;)

You know FG, I've never had to check the box to include my signature- in both quick reply or post reply. I wonder if its because I'm a mod or I'm just special? LOL

I did that long ago and it never shows. However I noticed if I do 'quicky reply' it does appear below my comments.

OK, I see the "include Sig" checkbox now. Seems a bit of a pain, but I can deal.

The "glitch" was Peter's decision to have them not included because they take up a lot of room.

It's Peter who can reclick it to be available within any format of our choosing.

We're best to make sure it's clicked...habit, helpful to the rest of us who tend to ask a lot of questions.

If you don't see it show up in a post, you can go to edit, click it and it's there....not that it can't be fixed.

quincy - how do you get more than 400 char in a sig? I had to abbreviate the heck out of things and omit iron infusions/anemia

Oh man, the click to show signature. What a pain. In the beginning, I couldn't figure out why the sig wouldn't appear all the time. Then, I noticed. I'm like WAT?

Quick reply ftw. Also I beleive that they do not autoupdate. (if u change it it will only be applied for new posts

Actually it might take several posts before whatever change shows. I just recently updated my sig and it didn't show up for about 5 posts, new or reply.

DB...I've had my signature for a long time, but when I want to change it...I never now di it in the My Profile section. It's totally wonky and obviously the format change Peter has done isn't compatible with my computer/explorer/whatever.

So....for me to update, I copy it from any post of mine. Paste it into an advanced reply box (I can't do colour or smilies anymore because of that incompatibility thingie). Make my changes (I don't count characters..does it say there's a limit?), copy it, then go to My Profile Signature.

Select all there, delete it, copy my signature, submit.

btw, I just looked at my signature on profile page and it looks wonky...don't know what would happen if I want to change it. So, I'll stick with this for now.

Try that and let me know how it works.
