about
and hour and a half ago i was hit with EXTREME abdonimanl pain. I have had U.C for almost 9 years now and it was nothing to andything i had had before. Last winder i had galstones and an infected gallbladder and this was right up there on the pain scale. I felt bloated and expanded, and movemnt or pressure on my abdomn hurt. It was everywhere down there to the point were i couldnt pin point the pain, it was followed by flatulence and some nausuea. Now i am still in pain but much much less, it aches and hurts right in my rectum and the bottom of my digestive track. I was worried about
perferations, there is occationally a sharp stabbing pain on the right side as well, and pretty high up. not sure if i should go to the hospital or not, anyone have any idea what just happened/ is still happening to me?
thank you
Amy

this has happened to me twice and both times i went for xrays/ct scans. it ended up being gas both occasions. i would go get it checked out just in case. you don't want to ignore a huge sign your body is giving to you.

That is what im worried about
, i dont have the money for unnecessary ER visits as I am a college student, I almost didnt go with my infected Gallbladder, my surgeon was amazed how long a waited before coming in, she said it looked like it was going to pop. I dont want to waist the money for gas...but at the same time can put a price on health

emergency - room. go! not to scare you but its always better safe than sorry.
and hospitals will help you with funds....i had one recently write a bill off for me because i simply could not afford it. it happens and your emergency is 10 times more important than the $$$ they make off of you.

I've had 3 such occasions as you are experiencing. Two of them was gas; it hurt so bad, I couldn't sit, could hardly breath and I couldn't bend. It eventually ran it's course. The 3rd time I ended up in the ER and found out my whole large intestine was swollen. So definitely get into the ER if the pain doesn't subside or it gets worse.

I just went to the health services on campus, she said i had high white blood cells and blood in my urine, which could be a UTI and thats what she gave me meds for, but it doesnt explain the rectal pain im still having, the distended stomach the inability to pass a movement and the nauesa. And i read that high blood and white blood cells in ur urine can be from a perforated intestine, i alos have kidney pain.

Are you on medications becasue of the UTI? It sounds as though you might also have a kidney infecton or inflammation.
Do you have UC? If yes, what meds for it?
Are you also having your period?

High white blood cells also indicate inflammation.

The distended stomach and inability to have a BM is really concerning and wouldn't be due to a UTI.

Sounds like symptoms I had when I had my bowel obstructions. Depending on how long you have been unable to have a bm.

Ubtade to everyone that has been helping me, I did pass a BM, but there was blood in the stool. and i havent had a bloody bm in months up too a year. My kidneys still hurt, my stomach onlyhurst with sudden movements or if i bare down really hard as if to pass a bm...not sure what it all means, but i havent had an attack like that since that night, and i seem to be in better health. I still have no idea what went on that night but i would like to thank all of u for ur help :)

I'm glad you're somewhat ok. I'd still make an appointment with a GI. Get better soon.

Amybeth, glad to hear you are doing better from a few days ago. There really are some useful yoga positions out there that can relieve gas and cramps. They have worked for me in the past. Do a search on google. :)
