Anyone had poison ivy while on prednisone???

I'm on 14mg right now and well...husband cuts down trees for a living and came in with poison ivy on him. He got it first and now I've got it but I'm already on prednisone so I'm just not sure what to do! I'm gonna contact my Dr. but this stuff is spreading and it's NOT fun! Gahhhh!

Oh that stinks! They have an OTC med called Ivyrest that may help you. Or just good ole Calamine lotion. Perhaps even Benedryl cream.

I would call the doctor. Maybe you need to up your pred dose a little bit.

oh no...poor you!! nice of him to share with you, however..lol.

What's he on to get rid of it?

When my husband had poison ivy, the dosage of pred was a 10 day taper from 60mg to 0.

So, you need to up the dosage in a fast taper back to where you are at this point. Call the doc asap...
