red spots on stool

Keep an eye on it. Are you straining when you go? Are you drinking lots of water? You can always increase your enemas to daily. When I strain, I almost always get a little hemmy blood.

I've randomly seen bright red dots on or in my stool before but never with any consistency though. I second the notion on straining (I tend to do this myself), if you did more so than usual during your recent bm then that could be to blame. I've also passed full corn kernels that had a little blood on the tip (must've collided with a swollen area of my sigmoid colon on the journey down and out). The tip of your enema can sometimes create a bit of irritation and cause a little blood sometimes too.

If there is consistently blood dots then it could be a sign of trouble up the pipe from something possibly minor or benign as an Internal Hemorrhoid or a polyp (which can bleed), to something of more concern like diverticulitis or a fissure. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see it more frequently.

The brighter red it was, the closer the point of bleeding is to your rectum. If it was purple it came from further up. And black is from the stomach or small intestine.
