Correct dosage for Lialda??

I've also taken 4 Lialda a day for a couple of years now and am in now great hurry to reduce down to the maintenance level of 2 a day. I took Asacol before Lialda and am not sure Lialda is working for me actually. I've dropped into flares constantly since being on it. I have pan-colitis with Ileum back-wash and am starting to wonder whether it releases a little too late. Am also not sure taking Lialda in one dose is as effective as splitting the dose.

If he is opposed to the enemas, maybe he would consider canasa suppositories? Totally a non issue as far as use & discomfort. I personally had no luck with probiotics, what changed my life was acacia fiber which acts as a prEbiotic. I'll do anything to stay away from prednisone!

I was taking 3600mg+ for years without any issue. The only reason I've been able to taper down to 2400mg is because I am on 6mp. I think some people just need a certain dose to stay in remission and if 4800mg is his dose, that may be the only option to keep him in remission. It's that or immune-supressants or rectal meds + oral.
