Are canned black olives ok for SCD? The only ingredient I see is ferrous gluconate, so not sure about it. Thanks :-)

it's just iron. seems weird to have in olives. i think olives are allowed on the diet after 3-6 months if you are following it from the intro. if you are going to eat olives, i'd get ones that are just cured with salt and olive oil.

^ ditto to bananagirl, there are a lot of weird ingredients in canned things that are probably ok, but if you want to be safe, you should be able to find a can that says "black olives, salt". Personally I like to get the glass jars of olives that don't even have added salt.

apparently it keeps the black olives ......... black !

kinda reminds me of the ronco hair restorer in a can - black spray paint i think - i'll have to look it up :-)

Thanks guys. I just started and the only think I'm really craving like crazy are canned black olives - not bread, not ice cream - black olives lol. Weird, huh? It's still early though, I'm sure those other cravings will come along.

Soystud - I remember that black spray-on hair! Is that still around? Laughed so many times at the commercial :-)
