I think the big key to polydextrose is that it doesn't feed the bad bacteria in our guts. I've been wondering if it would work to consume the days starchy carbohydrate calories in dextrose (thus still giving the body the energy it needs) but not feeding the bad bacteria with starch ( as per SCD)
It's just a thought, I can't experiment on myself at the moment but I did pick up some dextrose powder yesterday with this in mind.
