I thought Remicade was helping....

I had my 1st Remicade infusion 10 days ago, and started to notice improvements within a few days. I was far from perfect, but had been feeling MUCH better than I had in a long time. All of my symptoms were lessening a bit everyday. Then yesterday I was having more D than usual, and even saw a little blood for the first time in a couple weeks. Last night I had to get up more than once for the first time in about 5 days, and have had urgency and cramping again. I also think I might be having trouble with some internal hemmies, but am not sure because I never had them before. When I "go" I can tell something is pressing out from the inside and I can feel bumps down there, but they aren't there the rest of the time. I had been given steroid suppositories, but couldn't take them twice a day at the time due to urgency....now my prescrip is out.

So....does this sound like hemmies, or could it be general rectal inflammation?? Has anyone else on Remi felt like they were getting better and then had a backslide like this??

My doc is out of the office today, but I did call in to see if someone can refill the prescrip for me. I just hope it really is hemmies and not something else. There is lots of pressure and it seems to be making my urgency worse.... :(

i didn't notice backsliding that quickly after my first infusion. i steadily improved until my 5th infusion and then a week later had a full blown flare. i was surprised because i thought the remicade would still be in my system, but it just stopped working.

it does sound like there could be hemmies, internal or external. have you taken a look down there? if you just have a bm and they are still protruding, take a mirror and you might see them.
