After I use an enema or can I get up after a while?

It's best if you lie down for at least 30 minutes after using an enema. It will be easier to retain.

Oh that's ok.. It says to remain in bed till morning.. I used to lay for about half an hour with supps as well. Thanks

I personally stay in the bed for 2 hours. I noticed that if I get up in 30 mins, about half of the administered enema is excreted (because I get BM urge within a min. of getting up). If thats not your problem, 30 minutes should suffice.

I try to use them before bed but there were times I would use an emema or suppository and leave the house 15 minutes later.

put it this way....one enema is pretty expensive. If you are just starting them, let your gut get used to the extra weight of stuff in the lower part before you're just willing to eliminate it.

Use it at bedtime...meaning...when you go to bed!
