Stomach pain with BM

When ever I have an urgency to use the bathroom, it usually ALWAYS starts with really bad stomach pain, I then go to the bathroom, massage my stomach a bit to pass any gas or have a bowel movement and this usually alleviates the pain.. I almost never just have a normal urge to go and am able to do so without any pain.. I was wondering if a lot of people with UC expierience the same stomach pain with almost every bowel movement

Pretty sure that's part of UC..It never has been for me but then I don't get most symtoms everyone on here does. I recall reading this as a part of UC.. Pain before or after a bowel movement. Whether or not it's only part of a "flare" I'm not sure. Maybe it will decrease when

No, I haven't had that experience.
Colon pain, yes in the beginning. Urgency, yes. Stomach pain, no.

Could it be a side effect of the prednisone?
Have you had issues with stomach pain in the past?
Could you possibly have ulcers?

When I get pain or discomfort in my abdominal area before a bm it usually means that the consistency of what's about to come out is going to be very watery. That discomfort can linger for an hour or so, with multiple bathroom trips needed to clear it all out of my system. When things firm up there is no issue. Flares suck.
