Hi, so im 21 and all my life I havent had any allergies to peanuts.
How ever I was diagnosed with U.C last year. Have taken prednisone for 6 months now coming off them at 10mg and on 100mg of mercaptopurine.
The other day I bought some peanuts and had around 50 grams and no problems. But this morning I had some, and after washing my face I felt under my lip was all tingly, numb and is now feels a little swollen.
I only had a banana today and 25gams of peanuts.
Is it possible that you can develop an allergic to peanuts later in life? Or maybe the prednisone or mercaptopurine has caused this? Some thing to do with immume system?
Thanks.
