Wow, good topic, sorry this happened to you. I do 99.9% of our family's home cooked, from scratch meals. We've eaten like this long before my cancer, dating back to when my husband's then 35 yo brother had a heart attack. Heart disease runs in his family and our daughters were quite young, we ate out quite a bit and most of our meals were fast food (imagine the TV show The Middle's family eating habits, that was us). We just decided it was time to eat healthier meals. BTW, our house is 23 yo now and on it's 4th dishwasher! So since 1997, I have been cooking all of our meals. I have to replace that bay leaf box twice a year. Never knew you could buy them fresh.
