Prednisone was self-banned. But last summer I was dying with severe flare and flu, could not maintain body temp was soaking in hot bath.
Prednisone worked like a miracle within an hour, 8 week taper went great.
Jan 1 ex moved in 'temporarily' suddenly I had my first ever winter flare and Giardia despite drinking only 5 gallon drums of pure water.
Heavy lifting, having my car totalled evicting my ex all took a toll.
Now connecting the dots I see that in my body prednisone acts like an underlying coagulation disorder. Worse it weakens arterial walls.
Prednisone did get me back to work from horrible bloody flares and I have done some of my best work during the manic sleepless high-dose phase.
But this is the last time I ever take it for anything and it would not be necessary anyway with UCERIS and MILLENIUM coming available soon.
The upside is my heart his 100% awesome, I am getting daily iron infusions to fix longstanding anemia and the valium nights are helpful. I was able to avoid the majorly invasive cardiac team and ICU this morning by communicating well with the main doctor after researching all the angles this weekend.
I also need to stop being so type -A and having to win at everything all the time, going to learn to disconnect from work and do relaxation activities.
Prednisone = The deal with the devil
