Bump in the road or failure?

What started out last week as a little blood on toilet paper has now turned into noticeable blood with stool. Still only going 1-2 times daily. Ended Pred 1/30/13 and am now wondering if Imuran/probiotics/slippery elm are going to hold me in remission. Last time I was off Pred it only lasted a month before I had to go back. That is when my Imuran was upped to 150 mgs back in July.

Is this just a bump or is Imuran a failure?

Perhaps it's just a bump.

Have you done anything differently recently, i.e. food or supplements?

It could just be a bump.

I'd get on some rectal meds.

How long have you been on Imuran? And have you had the test to determine if you are in the therapeutic range?

Been on imuran almost a year and at 150 mg dosage since July. I am going to say its a bump and keep mind over body. If I believe I feel good I will feel good!

Maybe put that feeling good thought...about the rectals and try them. That would be a positive in my mind.

I have bumps in the road while on 6mp. I try to keep thinking positive and not let it get me down. If you're having mild symptoms, I agree with the others, maybe rectal meds would help. If it gets severe, you should go get blood work to see whether you're in the therapeutic range for imuran. Nothing works for everyone unfortunately but I hope you're able to get to 100%.
