Everybody heals at different rates. And I generally find it isn't always a straight, easy progression to recovering. I find myself having one or two really great days where things are improving and I get my hopes up. Then the next day is a bad day with more bathroom visits, I have more urgency and so forth. I'd say don't let any single day discourage you. Just look for some sort of slow, steady progression if you look at perhaps a week at a time or something.
But yeah, if things are not improving over a series of weeks then talk to your doctor. You might need to use the enemas nightly, you might need a higher dose of medication, or you might need a different medication entirely if things fail to improve. Sometimes it is trial and error to get out of a flare, and it may take several tries.
