I had an absess in my sigmoid that they were worried had fistulized to my ileum. It created proctitis and tenesmus as well as pus drainage. I think they were right, but didn't go their path.. My problem that is helped is constipation. Or d caused by partial obstruction from inflammation, or scar tissue narrowing upstream. I do not have unrelenting D anymore so I have no idea how it would help.

I like the squatty potty because I can hold the center part to help me keep stable. I have to pay attention to activating my core with the squat plyometrics, not just the position or it does bulge out areas that should not be.

Had urgent need to blow my guts out while urban hiking in Beijing, and had to rush into a public squat toilet at the nearest restroom- which happened to be the People's Liberation Army maternity hospital- made it with seconds to spare and explosively squatted a ton of liquid fecal matter. In china, public restrooms tend to only have squat toilets- other than in high end places or facilities with lots of westerners (eg international airports, western frequented business districts), where they will have both types.

I got kids stool from Ikea, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60101063/ and have been using them. It doesn't really give you prefect squatting effect, still better.

You don't want these when you are preparing for colonoscopy :)
