I used Cortifoam, and in the past, I'd used the retention enemas. If you just have rectal inflammation, you might see improvement within a day or two. I liked the foam (it was much easier to retain, and I could still take mesalamine enemas afterwards), but unfortunately, my inflammation was much too severe and diffuse for it to keep helping.
Since you've been using it for almost a month and not seeing improvements, it sounds like your inflammation might be too high up. I'd talk to your doctor about a scope, if it's been a while since your last one. Retention enemas might be a better idea, since they can hit the whole sigmoid colon.
