When you guys have abdominal pain does it hurt to touch from the outside? I have been having pain that we are trying to determine if is UC but it is tender to the touch from the outside.

Pressing or just touching?

Pressing in areas can definitely hurt...mostly for me it would be gas or spasming, but the pressing down would cause it to be very painful and sometimes radiate.

Sometimes putting pressure feels better, but not just in one spot...more like over the whole area with a pillow (or the cat), or a warm microwave bag with weight.

Can you explain in more detail exactly what you mean by touch?

Like even clothes being tight on it hurts. Light touching radiate pain through the area.

hell yes it hurts, and with me the pain seems to be completely diffused meaning it hurts in different regions. it used to only hurt in my extreme lower left side. like above my groin kinda to further to my side.

Q- I agree, kitties make great tummy heating pads... and the sweet cuddly comfort factor plays a role too I'm sure.

Tedd- This is the first flare where I've had pain - while cramping during BM is very very painful, gas cramps also hurt particularly upper left side. I feel pressure and gurgling with that pain. tummy massage helps a bit. But during the (hopefully) worst of it - the past 2 weeks, even just walking around the best way I could describe it was if someone had kicked me in the stomach - it was just sore and achy constantly. Having violent diarrhea several times a day is bound to leave you sore.

I have days where my jeans make my stomach hurt. Its usually days where I have been to the bathroom more then once. If I have alot of gas happening putting pressure on my stomach hurts but also seems to help get things moving around and on out.
