I kow there were risks with Azathioprine but I've been on it for years with no real problems, my blood results have been funny but not much else

Lasy few months everything gets infected, they all start as tiny cuts, then to get the mess out they get bigger, aand take forever to heal. i have a scar on my finger, my wrist and currently a huge scab on my lip from where i bit it.

yes im clean, yes i know how to take care of myself, but seriously, why must everythng get infected so easily.

is this normal?

on 125mg a day of it

How's your WBC? How has your blood tests been funny?

Anything that weakens your immune system weakens your whole immune system, allowing you to get infections easier. Doesn't matter what your blood levels say.

yeh i guess, it very odd it has started happening a lot more. but guess i should get used to it.

Imjustagirl- how old are you?

I just hit 40 and I've got to say that in the past year or 2, I just dont' heal the same either and I'm not on Aza. I think skin just has a harder time mending and returning to original state as you get older - smallest scrapes leave scars now for me..

I'm nearly 27, but I did remember after pasting this that a receptionist at the doctors once whispered to me "do you heal okay, im on that drug"
I guess i wanted to check that it wasn't just me.
