2 colonoscopy questions? (especially ladies)

1-Do hemerroids cause problems during colonoscopy? as far as I know they are just external but might also have internal ones?

2- And should I schedule colonoscopy even if it is the week of my menstrual cycle? what have others done? just wear a tampon?? it might be the only week that works schedule wise.

1. Nope. You'll be sedated so you won't feel any irritation from the scope. If you have internal ones the doctor will be able to see it with the scope and let you know.

2. Never had a colonoscopy during my period but I have had sigmoidoscopies while wearing a tampon and it wasn't a problem. I'm sure someone at your doctor's office can answer this question for you definitively when you make the appointment.

1. Nope, I have them and have never had an issue except for the prep. If they are already sensitive, they will hurt like the dickens before the prep is over.
2. Having your period is no problem. Just wear a tampon. No big deal. I have also done that. It is nothing they haven't seen before.
