Hello all, diagnosed with UC-Pancolitis over two months ago and overall have not been getting better. I had weeks of improvement (on prednisone) and then weeks where the prednisone only staved off worsening, and then an awful cold which worsened things, and now I feel like I might be showing signs of improvement. I switched from 40mg daily prednisone to Uceris 5 days ago and here are some of the details which lead me to think I might be improving.
-I can now pass gas (still smells bad)
-Less blood in stool, less bright red blood on toilet paper, now it is more rust colored.
-Slightly less bowel movements per day, but now they are a bit more random and urgent.
- My large intestine is always growling now.
- Eating more
- Stool is still very liquid, but not pure liquid. Small dime sized peces of fecal matter in some bowel movements. Used to turn the water dark brown/red, now some movements keep the water relatively clear, but with small chunks.
- Feeling bloated now
- Feeling less like fainting
- A little more energy
-Note: I had moderate anemia about two weeks ago, haven't had a test since.
How did your improvement/remission take course? Was it quick or was it very gradual? What are some of the signs that you saw?
