Had my second Colonoscopy yesterday

God that prep was awful but I managed to get it all down because last time I did no prep since it was an emergency. This time I wanted them to get a real good look. Here was the outcome. Diffuse continuous ulceration, granularity, friability, and congestion with contacted bleeding were noted. Moderate to severe
left >right colitis. Recommendations is that if stool cultures are C dif negative start Remicade. He prescribed me more Cipro and Flagyl(just 3 to 5 days) but since I just did a round of these a week or so ago I do not plan to take them as they make me so tired and really I would not be able to go back to work if I took them. I figure if results show positive c dif then I'll take them but otherwise I will not. Have to say the photos of my colon do not look good at all. I'll continue on Uceris and the Asacol HD and I will get back to daily mesalamine enemas that I have been slacking on. I pick up a new box of them later today. I'm all for the Remicade and my insurance has pre approved me already for 8 infusions. I have not been to work in 3 weeks. Tonight I will attempt to work my first 12 hr night shift. Hope to make all 4 of them. Nights are easier since less people and the bathroom is real close. Going to eat very little just to be on the safe side. I am still so tired for the last few days of the colonoscopy prep and clear liquid diet. Any tips on Remicade or getting through the set of nights? Any thought at all.

He did take some biopsies. One big plus is that my last blood test came back and my liver numbers were back to normal. I think that is good news as far as a possibility of PSC. My MRCP was not definitive(some narrowing but very little) and he does want to do an ERCP but I think as long as my Liver numbers are good I will decline. The liver numbers are not even borderline so I am feeling positive about that.

I totally agree on putting off the ercp. I am not sure where the narrowing was. I think I'll ask for the report from the mri guy when I visit my GI next week. Apparently is was a lengthy report so I would like to read it myself. I'll report back on the biopsies from the colonoscopy. I had some from my first one when I was diagnosed that confirmed UC. I also need to ask about my last prometheus blood test. They were different test than my original Prometheus when I was first diagnosed. I feel good because my last ast was 20 and my alt was 17 both of which are middle to low range. I made it through my first night shift at work with no real problems. 3 more to go!

well the tat is healed but after this flare I am going to go from half to full sleeve with it. So it is still a work in progress.

He wants me to take cipro and Flagyl. Thing is i just had a C diff test 2 weeks ago and i also did a round of Cipro and Flagyl 2 weeks ago. It just about killed me and made me so sick. I won't take it again unless I test possitve for C diff

Made it through the set of nights! It was difficult and I am exhausted. I also managed to do my enemas 3 of 4 days so thats good for me. I'll post my tat picture once I can get a decent one. It's difficult to get it all in one shot. As for what I plan to add. I am thinking since the first half is above sea I will do the second half below sea with some scary deep sea creatures and such. Giant squid, angler fish??? suggestions welcome but it will be all in black and grey.

Dang. Forgot to ask about the biopsies. I am negative for the c diff though. Starting remicade in the morning. Not taking anymore cipro and flagyl either.
