Tiny sample sizes for the Slovakian study Tornado6. Why doesn't someone set up a poll here? Though we probably need to know where they were born and month of birth since this is likely related to climate/sun exposure.

My mother, who had CD was born in September....so that falls within the study for CD. However, I was born in January which does not.

Interesting to contemplate birth month as a predictor for disease.

I read a study many years ago that stated a correlation between sunflares and cancer. The interesting part of that study is that the sunflares affected the female baby in-utero's eggs. So: If sunflare activity was high during your grandmothers pregnancy then her baby's eggs (your mother) would result in increased cancer for that 3rd generation (you) since females are born with all the eggs they will ever have for procreation.

My mom had UC, she was born in October, I have CD, born in June.

Me and my Mum born UK fit the study. She - MS, born early June, me UC, born mid June (a few weeks premature though, should have been early July). Throw in grandfather born early June, developed Parkinsons. Uncle born May, also autoimmune disorders. Only one to escape, brother, born January.

I know my mom wasn't running around in the sun because she was in her last semester of college. She also hates milk, so I don't know how much vitamin D she was getting. Not sure what they were doing with prenatal vites way back then...
