Who's on Uceris and a maintance drug like Asacol?

Just wondering who's doing both or doing rectal meds as well?

I couldn't tell if the study group was on a maintenance drug as well. Does anyone know?

I'm using colazal too. And cortifoam every 3rd night.

I'm on both right now since last Weds.  This drug seems to be working better than nothing, but I doubt I will pay the full price for it since my insurance will not cover it.  I am using free samples right now.

I noticed yesterday and today my fingers are swelling up and my lower back hurts like it did before we bought our Temperpedic matress which was 4 years ago.  cry    Still have urges to go but not quite as bad as before.  I'm curious how one tapers down on this medicine...

I'm giving it two weeks and that's it! I've had blood a lot again today! I'm switching my diet to that resistant starches i.e. brown rice, navy beans and green bananas and see if that doesn't help.

There should be no taper, it's not supposed to be in the blood stream I read here on the forum?

I am on asacol hd uceris and meslamine enemas. So far no luck and had blood this am. I started the starch resistant diet last week. Made some nice baked beans(using navy beans) and I have been eating a green banana in the am. Got some yams but have not had one yet

Well I'm reading the prescription highlights and its says Uceris is for mild to moderate UC.

It also says only 22/123 (17.9%)of participants found remission after 8 weeks inthe first study.
The second study fared slightly worse with 19/109 (17.4%) of participants having success.
For those who received a placebo pill success rates were 7.4% and 4.5%. Maybe we should try 8 weeks of placebo pills and see if that helps -no side effects and much cheaper hehe


It seems Uceris may work for a few people with mild UC but not many.

I'm on Asacol, Imuran, Humira & Uceris- talk about maintenance meds! It's helping, the Uceris. I just picked up my 2nd 30 day script & will do the full 8 week course. I mean, it's definitely better than pred. But doesn't pack the punch that pred does either. We'll see what happend when I stop.
