Would it do any harm to try a few steroid suppositories?

I have been using Asacol foam enemas recently and I have had a very small improvement in symptoms from small amounts of blood all of the time to only a little bit of blood at night. However, today I have passed enough blood to slightly change the toilet water colour to a pale pink.
Last time I tried steroid suppositories they worked fairly well, they got a lot of bleeding down during a full flare of lots of blood being passed. The only reason why they didn't work fully was because of iron suppliments aggrivating the disease.
So I was wondering would it do any harm to try some steroid suppositories for a few days?
I have them lying around in the cupboard from the last time I had them about 8 months ago.
Also, I can't contact my doctors as I am in the process of being transferred from a child clinic to an adult clinic so I don't have the number for my doctors at the moment

Sure, use them. If your inflammation is away from rectum, they may not help much. You would need enema for that but give it a try and see the effect. What dose is it, 25mg?
