Docs say time for surgery

I'm in hospital with a severe uc flare. Several blood transfusions and platelette. Docs say its time for surgery. I have a lot of worries not so much about the surgery but its after. I get skin infections easy body doesn't like adhesives or plastics I have a bad heart but docs feel confident they can get me through. But once done scared what rocky road might b on other side ie infections body rejecting plastic etc.

I'm wanting to try a holistic or natural approach if I can get stable but it seems as if that window may have passed. I'm lucky so far they have the bleeding stable. I don't even know where to begin with holistic or alternative meds if I can even do it. I feel like I'm racing against the clock trying to educate myself about surgery and alternative.
Any insite help etc would be grateful. I have a rare incurable disease called pulmonary hypertension as well so I am battling that as well. It is stable right now.

It doesn't sound like you have time to try different approaches. If you have so much bleeding that you need several blood transfusions, then you probably aren't in a good spot to try things. The sicker you get the harder surgery will be.
There are lots of different kinds of adhesives, and if you can go for a jpouch you will only need the bag for a few months.

The clock has run out. You need to just get the surgery to stabilize your life. People here do alternatives for years before they MIGHT find something that helps. Some never find anything other than the major league meds.

I have seen a lot of people on the ostomy forum mention similar concerns to yours. You may want to go over there and take a look. I have to say, everyone has huge fears before surgery but I haven't seen too many people with regrets. I've seen a few people who were very sensitive to adhesives that have struggled but it seems most get through it and find something that works for them. I have the same fear, I have very sensitive skin.
