I'm new here so I'll try to keep this short... I quit smoking in May 2011, had bloody bowel problem for months then went to get a colonoscopy trying to figure out what was happening- they also did a ct scan to check inside. they found a 2mm pulmonary nodule in my lower left lung but told me not to worry, come back in a year to get it rechecked .. dx'd with UC from colonoscopy at this time I had been quit for 1 yr and had no idea of the connection between smoking and UC. I started again and symptoms went away. I am on lialda. I went in for my 1 yr follow up ct last week and the nodule grew to 4mm. they are now referring me to a pulmonary specialist to decide on a course of action. I haven't had a cigarette since the ct results came back. Now I'm paying for it and my bowels hate me. please someone tell me how I can get this to a manageable state without smoking since I am scared about what's going on with my lungs. Can I eat something helpful? supplements? I'd prefer not to have to get on more meds right now... sigh. anyone BTDT? thanks for taking the time to read this.
