Proposed rules say all birds, contaminated or not, be treated with antimicrobial chemicals which have created health problems for inspectors. Government has not studied possible effects on consumers.

and this is why I am moving toward vegetarian. I already buy organic and pastured.. but still, the food supply is so messy.

Chicken that is labelled free of antibiotics, as well as that which is labelled outright as organic, should technically be free of this garbage.

I'm lucky and my homesteading brother grows my chickens for me. I would hope chickens labelled organic would be free from this stuff though!

scary stuff. I buy antibiotic-free chicken too but are they "free" of other treatments? How do we know?

I rarely ever eat any meat because of how awful the "farming" industry has become. It's not even farming anymore, it seems like it's all about money making with no respect for the lives that are killed.
