Good update!

Well, I've been off the prednisone since December...and although I'm 15 pounds fatter, I seem to be doing ok. I'm still on the daily Asacol and mesalamine enemas as needed, but I started at my new job on Feb. 11 and the UC has been very quiet since then. No blood, only an occasional spotting of mucus, and bathroom trips only once per day. I've also got IBS so stress can bring on a day of multiple "nervous tummy" trips, but those are decreasing too!

The new job is amazing. The company has 4200 employees, so there is a real HR department, really health benefits, and real procedures and protections. If I ever DID need to stay home a day, I work off of a laptop workstation and have full shoretel capability and can do my job at 100% anywhere I had a good internet connection. It's wonderful! It is like job utopia, and I don't know how I got so lucky.

I wanted to post a good update here, because know when I was first diagnosed I went here and was pretty terrified.

My next challenge is to try and get off of my insomnia meds...so we'll see!
