I've decided that drinking prep for a colonoscopy is like taking shots of liquor. The first couple are fine. The next few, you know are getting to you. The next, well you know the liquid has taken effect. Now that last 8 ounces...well you know it is going to be trouble...do you drink it and push yourself over the edge or do you walk away from it.

I'm staring at my last glass and trying to decide if I'm going to throw up! Lol

I just swallowed the last of GaviLyte-N prep. Lemon flavored 4 liters and not horrible. My GI was out of Suprep so it was either pay full price(@$75) at the pharmacy or get a prescription for this (which was way cheaper). Figured it wasn't going to stay in me so go cheap. This actually tastes better and was easier than the Suprep.

My only concern is that I am finished with the prep, but I am still seeing evidence of Sunday's salad in the bowl. I am not at that clear liquid stage. Hopefully over the next hour or so all will be clear.

Shots? Never had shots (other than IV for sleep). This prep was by far easier that Suprep. I only got up once during the night and never threw up!

The hooter cam is the easiest part since I will be knocked out.

I am alittle concerned that i am not cleaned out enough though. Still passing brown liquid.

I am surprised you weren't told to drink a bottle of mag citrate if you weren't cleaned out. I believe that is what I have been told to do.

Hopefully you will be ok.

I don't eat for 1 day and I am able to get away with just 1/6th of the bowel prep.

Just got back. Guess I was clean enough. Nurse had hard time getting IV right, but otherwise it went fine. GI wants me to only take prednisone until my follow up on the 30th.

good you survived the prep and scope! still no rectal meds and back on pred? boooo.

Get a copy of the biopsies results...

Thanks! Doc told my parents to only do the Pred as he believes the Imuran did more harm than good. Interested to find out exactly what that means.

Imuran can take its toll on the liver (i hope that's right). Worse for some than others.

I so understand about the prep. Today I had a cat scan and had to drink like a half gallon of contrast and every single sip I took made me gag. I almost puked several times and....shhhh...don't tell anybody I tossed the last once in the trash while the nurse wasn't looking because I knew it was going to send me over the edge...gosh the things we have to go through because of IBD. Hope your results were good.

I had a CT when I was in the ER. Whatever the hospital used, it was wonderful. Simply tasted like weak lemonade. Now the one I had 2 years ago...that left me throwing up and in the fetal position on the bathroom floor!
