I had my flexible-endoscope yesterday and I still have moderate/severe inflammation to 45cms. I last had a scope done on 4/2/2013 which read the same results. He said no noticeable difference between the two scopes After the early April scope, he had bumped up my 6mp dosage and I had hoped that would help -- no dice -- I guess 6mp has failed me. So, in two weeks I am meeting with my GI to arrange Remi at a local hospital. In the mean time, I am figuring out the logistics of what this will cost me out of pocket and how much Remi-start and my insurance will pay for. Fun stuff.
I know Remi has helped a few here, like ScienceGirl, and I am hoping it will me too... Certainly it has been one hell of a ride since uc menifested itself 1.5 years ago. As nothing seems to give me remission.

Depending on your insurance, you could ask for Humira. Just a pain, no logistics really.

My GI mentioned Humira but with the caveat that it doesn't work all that well for uc. He says he has some patients in his practice on Humira, but he always starts with remi first since it has a much higher success rate with uc. He said if cost is the biggest concern, then I can do Humira first, if I want. I am leaning toward Remi as the odds are much better.

Soystud, the inflammation goes as far as he can see with his scope, is moderate/severe, and that inflammation is completely consistent in appearance from rectum to sigmoid (no patches of varying inflammation, no ulcers, present, etc). My GI has gone to varying depths with his flexible-endoscope from 45cms to 60cms. Yesterday's scope was to 45 cms. The one in early April was to 60cms. I think the scope in January 2013 was to 55cms. So I guess the exact extent of my active disease is unknown at this point (I'd need a full colonoscopy and my GI hasn't suggested that yet). Certainly, having a lot of active disease isn't a good thing. I believe having ulcers present is much worse than just having severe inflammation so I am lucky there.
The real frigg'n kicker is my symptoms aren't all that bad for this much active disease. Just 1-2 big bms in the early morning. And then sometimes a trip or two to the bathroom later in the morning with gas and a tiny poop nugget. Urgency isn't all that bad after the first morning bm.

That's really weird that you have so few symptoms, but you still have inflammation in your rectum. Unusual!
Remicade has worked for me so far, although I'm not quite in remission yet. I also haven't had a scope since before I started Remi, so I'm not sure how I'm looking now compared to mid-February, when my flex sig showed, like ... oh god, it was bad. But since you're starting with mostly no symptoms, while I was starting with my worst symptoms ever, you might get knocked up into remission pretty quickly!
