Hi guys. Just hoping for some suggestions about where to go from here.
about a month ago I did a stool test (Metametrix). On the positive side, it showed no inflammation, mucus or blood. On the bad side, it showed that I had H.Pylori and a mild - moderate overgrowth of yeast/fungi. I did a breath test after the stool test and it actually showed I didn't have H.Pylori. Since my FTs, I've had yellowish stools, loose - D type stools, sensation to have a BM when eating, bloating, gurgling and foul gas.
My doctor is concerned with treating the supposed H.Pylori infection but I don't want to (since I have no upper G.I symptoms and the subsequent test said no H.Pylori). She hasn't mentioned anything about treating the overgrowth of yeast even though it would seem my current symptoms are more in line with the yeast overgrowth. In fact, I've largely cut out sugar this week and my symptoms seem to have dulled a bit.
Has anyone tried prescription anti-fungal drugs before? (such as Nystatin). Are they dangerous? I am meeting with my doctor/naturopath this Tuesday and would like to press the issue of treating the yeast overgrowth.
