green liquid diarrhea?

does anyone know what could be wrong with me? i submitted a stool sample to my gi yesterday morning, but heard nothing back all day so i guess i will have to struggle through the weekend. i have already missed three days of work & can't keep missing time like this.

tuesday night i came down with a fever & started having liquid yellow diarrhea (literally, i am peeing out my bum right now...). i've been going to the bathroom once every 1 - 2 hours & i've also been a little nauseous from time to time. my pee was also a very dark yellow color (not normal for me). this continued until thursday morning. friday afternoon my poop switched to a liquid green color. it is still that way now. although my fever finally went away friday morning & my pee has switched back to mostly clear, or a very light yellow color which is more normal for me.

i am not seeing blood or anything, but these are definitely not normal bowel movements.

tried a cortiform enema on wednesday night & it did nothing. i am only on asacol right now. i did take a vsl #3 packet on thursday & friday night so i'm not sure if this is causing the change in poo color?

does anyone know what could be wrong with me or what i should be doing? all i had to eat yesterday was half a banana, some dry cheerios, a piece of toast with unpasteurized honey on it, and a couple spoonfuls of white rice. i've also been drinking a bit of diet ginger ale here & there to help with the nausea.so i have no idea where all the bathroom trips are coming from. the nurse at my gi's office suggested i could take imodium if i wanted some relief but i'm not so sure thats a good idea? i just came off pred so i don't know if i'm flaring, if i just have a really bad flu as i sat beside someone who was sick on monday night, if i have c diff, or some kind of food poisoning. i have never been like this before.

Agree. Are you eating? If you go on liquids or total bowel rest, your BMs will turn green within a day or two. The yellow BMs were excess bile that wasn't absorbed in the ileum -- commonly seen in backwash ileitis or after resection of the terminal ileum. In any case, this does sound more like a bug than a flare to me. Good luck

to be honest my use of pentasa enemas is all over the place because of the way my schedule is sometimes, but i had started using them regularly again several days before this happened. i usually notice a huge difference right away whenever i use cortifoam enemas.

i was put on pred again (20mg & tapered down) in early april for a flare up of arthritis in my shoulder & am assuming it would have also had some effect on my uc, although my uc wasn't flaring up at the time.

not sure how high my fever was, but enough to make me want to stay home from work. although it finally went away yesterday morning & is still gone today.

It definitely sounds like it could be a GI virus. My 2 month old got the rotavirus vaccine Tuesday. It's an oral, live attenuated vaccine. The pedi said the "real" virus causes really severe green diarrhea and to expect baby girl to show some mild symptoms. Sure enough, the next couple of days she had a few more BMs than normal and they definitely were greenish and sorta slimy looking.

well...managed to eat a couple of perogies yesterday. and had a whole bowl of home made soup today with lots of ginger in it along with plenty of crackers.

haven't been going to the bathroom as often today as i have been since wednesday, but getting some weird abdominal pains, still pretty weak, and stool is still pretty watery.

so crossing my fingers i don't jinx it...but i feel like i'm VERY SLOWLY getting better. going to keep taking a packet of VSL #3 daily & steroid enemas nightly.
