Nice to see another drug option hit the market!

The drug looks effective based on clinical studies but the side effects really look scary.

"The most common side effects in patients treated with Simponi are upper respiratory infection and redness at the site of injection. Patients treated with Simponi are at increased risk of developing serious infections, invasive fungal infections, reactivation of Hepatitis B infection, lymphoma, heart failure, nervous system disorders and allergic reactions."

Did you look up the price? The syringe is $13000. 00. The smartject is $2500.00. Don't Think many insurances will be approving that soon.

Sounds like it has the same side effects as most TNF-alpha antibodies. I wonder what the difference is between this one and Humira.

The price is similar to Humira and it's already approved for other indications.  I'm hoping they have an assistance program similiar to Humira and Remicade.
