How Old Were You?

I was diagnosed when I was 29 and I'm 33 now.

Got UC at 51, had 50 good colon years. Feel very fortunate!

I was 26 when diagnosed, but had symptoms and was misdiagnosed for 7 years (they said internal hemmies and irritable bowel). I am now 40 and no surgeries to date.

I has IBS dxs starting at age 7, UC dxs starting at age 19. Im 35. Ive had 4 laprosopic surgeries, to look around.. 1 abdominal surgery where they took my appendix, just because... hospitalized lots of times, the last was 2 years ago they told me I was outta options and Id be getting atleast my colon removed, and possibly some of my small intestine, they couldnt tell me exactly how much till surgery was over. I signed myself out AMA. Still have all my intestines and now have a Lyme, chronic strep and mycoplasma DX so I finally know the root of my illness. A Rheumatologist found those things, not any of the dozens of gis I have seen.

Im in remission now with no meds. "They" couldnt fix me but diet, herbs, and supplements are working very well. Im very thankful.

Diagnosed at 25, first hospitalization right after my 26th birthday last year. Two surgeries so far this year, takedown is scheduled for July 31.

My GI thinks I might have had self resolving flares starting around age 20. I had a very bad campylobacter infection during college that was exactly like a UC flare, but obviously didn't know what UC was at the time. Also had unexplained giant hives on another occasion, had to clear it up with prednisone. Interestingly between all those possible flares my GI tract was really fantastic. Perfectly formed pain-free daily BMs. Only issue was lactose intolerance (which, after colectomy, I no longer have).

My mom has Crohn's and she was diagnosed at 23.

23 or 24. Now 48. No surgery.

Diagnosed with pancolitis at age 35. (I had symptoms for a while though before seeing a dr.) I had j pouch surgery at 41.

"Andrina, things arent looking good. Ive been on flagyl once and vanco twice. I cant get the c diff to go away. Traveling for a fecal transplant is not in the cards since i dont have an income and my mom is a single mom. The treatment itself isnt covered so i cant afford airfare/hotel on top of the testing/colonoscopy. Just so depressed. My mom called the mayo clinic in arizona and theres a doctor that does them. I have to play the lottery!"

Didn't you used to do your own fecal transplants? Can't you do those?

Dx'd @ 55. I, too feel very fortunate not to have this in my younger years.

Somedude, i had no benefit from the enemas so id like to do it by ng tube or colonoscopy. I also need to do donor testing which i never did the first time.

I was 4, now Im 96 years old. I had UC until 85 but it died of old age. From 85 to 96 no more UC.

Is this true? I thought you were a lot younger. You're acting younger

48 but did have symptoms pretty much since 18 just never got bad enough to get checked.
